About the yard

Pearson

Pearson Yachts was founded in Rhode Island in 1956 by cousins Clinton and Everett Pearson, and was one of the first builders to produce fibreglass cruising yachts in series. The Triton of 1959 is often cited as the boat that started it. The boats are long-lived and most now sail on replacement sails rather than original ones.

Models owners ask us about most often: PEARSON 34-2, PEARSON 37-2, PEARSON 31-2, PEARSON 25 and PEARSON 27.

Common questions

Do you already have the rig dimensions for my Pearson?
Most likely. Every Pearson model on this page has its own page carrying published rig dimensions (I, J, P, E), and where those are complete we can price a sail straight from them. We still confirm the measurements against your actual rig before anything is cut, because masts get replaced, rigs get modified, and published figures describe the model rather than your boat.
What if my Pearson isn't listed?
Send us the boat and your rig measurements through the contact form and we will quote it. The archive covers production models, so one-offs, heavily modified boats and rare variants often aren't in it. That has no bearing on whether we can build your sails.
Can you match the original sail plan?
Yes. We can build to the original sail plan, or adjust it around how you actually use the boat, whether that is cruising, short-handed sailing or racing, and around your rig's current furling, reefing and batten arrangement. Tell us what you have and what you want from the sail, and our designers will work from there.

Can’t find your Pearson?

The archive covers production models, so one-offs and modified boats often aren’t in it. Send us your rig measurements and we’ll quote your sails either way.

We tore ours while in remote Indonesia so they had to work with our measurements and tight time line to get a new one sorted / shipped for us.
